Trout beware! G2's are incredible fishing tools. These are rods that roll cast, mend, and protect tippet beyond compare. Truly a traditional trout action-- much closer to medium than fast-- this is not the rod for 90 foot casts in the parking lot. Anglers get in tune with rod in a few false casts, and realize what a joy it is to cast, fish, and feel. There is no struggle to get G2's to load up. Stick with the rated line size, and you'll be good to go.

Close, and mid-range technical trout work is where this rod really shines. They handle nymphing duties well, but the G2 really excels with a Dry fly or Dry/Dropper combo on the end. There are plenty of lengths and configurations to match your favorite trout water from big river to small creeks!

Faves in the series: G2773/4 for small streams, G2884/4 for all around 4 weight work, and G2905/4 for light tippet work on big, tricky fish.
